Bits new to the EX version of Sine Mora are two-player local co-op in Story mode, new competitive modes, new challenge levels, "improved rendering", full English voice overs, support for 16:9 aspect ratios, and the ability to run in 4K resolutions at up to 60fps. Nothing huge, but nice as a bonus.
Sine Mora EX Game For PC Full Version
The game was later released for the PC on November 9, 2012, for both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on November 20, 2012, for iOS devices on July 16, 2013, for the Ouya on August 13, 2013, and for Android devices on August 16, 2013. Kalypso Media released the PC version, while Digital Reality released all others. The PSVita version was ported by G.rev, who also brought Wilhelmine Muller from their early shoot-'em-up Under Defeat as a guest character. The iOS and Android versions were ported by Pocket Scientists.
It later received an enhanced version, titled Sine Mora EX, on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on August 8, 2017, with a Nintendo Switch release later on September 26, 2017. Released by THQ Nordic (later HandyGames), this version features full English voice-overs (with the original's Hungarian now optional), co-operative play in Story mode, new competitive modes and challenge levels, and full 4K support (in some versions).
Originally developed for Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade, Sine Mora was soon slated to appear on PlayStation Vita,[6] later confirmed to extend to PlayStation 3 as well.[5] This version added a new character named Wilhelmine Muller, a character pulled from the G.rev video game Under Defeat,[11] in addition to a "new special weapon and new chronomes"[6] and a new "Challenge Mode," judging players on evasion, aim, time management, weapon handling and gunner usage. Two weeks before the game's PlayStation Network launch, Sine Mora also surfaced for Microsoft Windows through Steam.
Jim Sterling of Destructoid commented on the game's demo that, "Sine Mora is on track to be a fantastically fun downloadable shooter. The graphics are terrific, there's a silly story at play and the bullet-Hell action is fast-paced and surprisingly varied. In my one demo session, I fought giant skytanks, went underwater, and shot at big worms in a subterranean cave. With three planes to choose and plenty of levels with shifting scenery, I can't wait to try out the full game."[9]
Sine Mora EX is a horizontal shoot-em-up game originally developed by Digital Reality (now part of THQ Nordic) and then co-developed by Grasshopper Manufacture. Instead of relying on health bars or a limited number of hits before your plane is destroyed, time is of the essence as each hit you sustain saps away your remaining time. The EX version of the game includes quality-of-life updates such as 16:9 support, support for 4K 60FPS, and English voice acting in addition to the original Hungarian voice acting, as well as additional game-modes and coop multiplayer.
The two-player features in Sine Mora EX are fairly basic but a lot of fun. The second Joy-Con can join in for a co-operative helping experience in the Story Mode, as well as go against one another in three Versus mini-games, ranging from surviving against incoming obstacles to an airship version of Air Hockey. These features, whilst not likely to be a huge selling point for most due to their understated nature, are good additions to the overall package and help play to the strengths of the hardware.
Sine Mora EX contains plenty of content for its lower asking price, but one factor can either be a potentially huge selling point, or a means to avoid the game altogether. That is the overall difficulty. Simply put, Sine Mora EX is not an easy game, as is reflective of many in the genre, but this one can be unfairly so at times, particularly with the rare case of bullets blending into the colours of the environments, and one-hit obliteration kills from certain hazards in the levels. There are often prompts from the game in a checkpoint cut-scene beforehand to indicate these hazards, but the methods for actually getting around them can still be unclear and easy to mess up. Normal is the default difficulty choice, but challenging is only for the truest of hardcore players, and is the defining selection for Sine Mora EX as a whole; a visually great and wonderfully playable shooter with a level of hardship appealing to fans of the genre, yet not quite enough leeway for new pilot promotion.
In this version on Sine Mora EX there are a few added bonuses for players. There is a nice couch co-op mode, one player flies the ship and the other one mans the guns. There is also an arcade mode, boss training, and a score attack mode to go with the story. The game reminded me of shmups from the late 90s packed with action.
Parents need to know that Sine Mora Ex is a downloadable shoot-'em-up game featuring side-scrolling action, and that it also features adult language and suggestive themes, including references to genitalia and rape accusations. This is a tension-filled game where the difficulty ramps up quickly; the player is actually battling time and wave upon wave of enemies. While action is packed full of explosions, there's no blood or gore shown.
If those two big games weren't enough, even the other titles are well worth checking out. The criminally overlooked and underrated Sine Mora is being offered for Xbox 360. While you can actually grab the slightly better Sine Mora EX on Xbox One (and PS4, PC, Switch), getting a version of it for free is a steal. Combined with Coffee Talk and this could possibly be the best month for Games with Gold in years.
Sine Mora EX will release on August 8, and did you know that its soundtrack is provided by Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka? The only trailer I can find is of the Switch version, but I don't imagine the PC game will be wildly different: 2ff7e9595c
